New experiences for Ballet Dancers After IFL National Bronze Medal Achievement Winning a bronze medal at the 2013 IFL National Competition was one of a dreams came true for Ballet dancers. Before the competition dancers undergone series of workshop’s from calisthenics to gymnastic. The workshop undergone from October to January, 4-months of preparation before the National Competition.
An interview from the ballet dancers namely, Jabez Joash Falogme, Joshua Given Rufon, Marx Fernando, Margie Anne Claud, Noelyn Labindao, Angelique Mendoza, Rica Claud after the competition. "It was a definite changed in our lives. It’s fun with ballet dancing, discipline and self confidence truly developed within us," said ballet dancers. "Our parents recognize our passion in dancing. Sometimes they woke up us early in the morning for our early breakfast & exercise routine. The thing that has affected us more is the fact that we are now somebody who are part of the performing pupils that will represents the school in the National. In every way that what we do and what we say, we commit to ourselves that we are truly ballet dancers in heart and mind. “Success had been another impact for us; we have to balance our study life and the rehearsals. Mostly it was scheduled every Saturday 1:00-5:00 consistently 5 hours of dance routines thus gave us the focus whether in academics for the weekdays & ballet class every weekend” Jabez said. “To Compete at the highest level is not easy; balance now is even more important than before.” Angelique said. Overall, 2013 was a positive year for Ballet Dancers. “The whole season was good and very consistent for their rehearsals." the ballet coach said. Thus gave them a competitive chance for the National. They described their National experience . "The National is something special and being out there in front was like 'Oh yeah, “We are really here” Marx said. We had a good competition, and we think that we were in the unique colored tutu in the leading group” Noelyn said. “We are so nervous at the time that we are performing on stage yet we did it” Joshua said. At first we didn’t know if we will win the contest since the Chinese school from Manila & Batangas City, made a remarkable performance. After a nerve wracking waiting, at the last call of awarding ceremony, we heard that the Bronze medalist is from the Region VI, Aklan province at that moments we’re all at the backstage waiting for the announcements and we had now on our big smiles. It’s a big YES! we got the National Bonze. Out of eight participating regions, we are happy to share these to all our classmates in the Mountain of God Learning Center and to our parents who supported us one way or another, with what we achieved and how we achieved it. Totally it gives us a new perspective in life that do not lose hope and do not give up”. Angelique said. “Dream, Believe & work for it” coach added. |
